"Chicago's Only Clash Cover Band That Matters", London Calling delivers a dynamic, high-energy tribute to the music of The Clash, with a live show that embodies the spirit, intensity and genre-hopping diversity of one of rock's most important and revered acts.
Since 2003, London Calling has performed across Chicago and the surrounding area sharing stages with acts/artists like Jon Langford (Mekons/Waco Brothers), John Haggerty (Pegboy/Naked Raygun), Scott Lucas (Local H), Dave Specter, Frankie Hill (Heavy Manners), Jake Burns (Stiff Little Fingers), Dag Juhlin (Slugs/Poi Dog), Patty Elvis, members of the Safes and numerous others, with appearances at a diverse range of events, from the Ton-Up Club/Mods vs. Rockers Motorcycle & Scooter Rallies to Chicago's PANIC! DJs Dance Parties to the Neighborhood Boys & Girls Club Family Fest.
In 2007, London Calling contributed the song "Lightning Strikes (Not Once But Twice)" to The Sandinista Project (00:02:59 Records), a track-by-track tribute to The Clash's sprawling 1980 triple LP which also included performances by The Smithereens, Camper Van Beethoven, Jon Langford (Mekons), Sally Timms and many more.
In addition, for the past eight years London Calling has hosted and headlined the annual Chicago Calling: A Very Special Clash Christmas fundraiser; this perenially sold-out event has resulted in thousands of dollars in proceeds being donated to charities such as the Carole Robertson Center for Learning, Coat Angels and the American Cancer Society.
